Notice The Common Denominator...

I like to carry stick like things around .... and I don't like it when you tell me no.

Halloween, cont.

Halloween

Well, I went the day before to pull the Winnie The Pooh costume out of the closet we had from - Libby? I think. Anywho, the last time I looked at it, it was "huge". Needless to say my child has now qualified as "huge" so it was more than a few inches too small! Found this lovely skeleton for 7 bucks so it was going to have to do... it said a size 1-2T and it may not look it, but he was squeezed in to it... last one is fuzzy of Mack and Brad as we went in to the dreaded MALL OF GEORGIA, right as my camera died. I couldn't believe we were going to a mall on Halloween, simply unamerican - but as it turned out, Mack was enthralled with all the kids and costumes. Turned out to be a great place to let him run around. We had lots of comments on the hair - and more than a few moms at school told me I should do that to his hair all the time. Here I thought I was being cruel...dang! They liked it!

Stairs and Screaming

As you can see, we've learned to shreak, shreel and scream at a deafening tone. As for the stairs, despite many of our attempts to show the proper "turn around and scoot down" approach, Mack prefers the creative route - forward

Swimming (or floating)...

From late July until the first part of September Mack was learning a survival skill should he fall in a pool, pond, creek, etc. This may not seem like much, but I will try and find an early on video of him. Trust me, if you should throw a 13 mo. old in to a pool, the will have no clue what to do. As you will see from this, when Mack is tossed in to the water he will know to roll over to his back and float there. Again, this may not seem like much, but it would buy you the few minutes (often all you need) to retrieve a missing child. Keep in mind he is in full "gear" - clothing, diaper, shoes, etc. You'd be shocked at how much this all weighs when wet! I know this looks like torture, but remember he is safer!

Mack Dancing!

this is one of my favorites - capturing the preview of his "white man dance" years to come. he didn't even have a beer before this.... (notice the shoulder moves, very advanced-very advanced)

Our Day At The Park

While home in KC last week my friend Elle's brother took some great photos of Mack at the park! Take a peek at a few! There you go Uncle Scott, an update for the day :)

Florida Trip

Mack and I were so lucky to be invited along for a trip to Florida! My friend Casey and her daughter Sawyer were driving from KC to FL via Atlanta. Casey's dad has a vacation home in Anna Maria Island, FL so they invited us to come along and stay with them. We had a ball, Mack LOVED the water, and running along on the beach. He could care less about the saltwater in his eyes and just wanted more. Our friend Elle joined us a couple days later, Mack was in heaven with all the attention from 3 extra ladies. He is a shameful flirt

Splish Splash!

Swimming! Or... Splashing

Today was Mack and I's official first time in a pool TOGETHER. I can't believe it, 13 months and 3 days after birth. Very sad for the gal who likes the water. He did get in for a few minutes on 4th of July with our realtor friend here Mary, at her pool. So today we went swimming with the Decker's (Angie, Blake and Payton)- Mack was in hog heaven and had a ball, though his splashing is out of control so we had to limit his time in there for fear he'd drink too much of it!

Walking Around...

Video last Saturday walking around and watching the rain fall outside...

More !!!!!!!!!!

This face means, give me more cantaloupe dangit !! Current favorite foods are fruit of any sort, green beans are a pretty good option too - cold, out of the can. Mac n cheese always a hit. Doesn't want plain turkey or meat so much, he likes the roasts or sauteed meats with vegetables, something with flavor and spice. Guacamole, will eat by the spoonful, like his parents. Still no sippy cup, I believe he will go to college transitioning from one bottle to the next.

Road Rash...

Well, as I mentioned, we were off Saturday morning to pick blueberries. Mack was uncharacteristically dressed in sandals - which he quickly worked out of in the car. Could it have been the lack of blood flow to his feet as I had them strapped so tightly to prevent a Houdini? Needless to say, as we were loading the car up, he was walking around in the garage and decided to head out on his own, DOWN the driveway in these shoes, so down he went, bascially in a somersalt. Face plant. Amazingly only cried for no more than 10 seconds. Tilley and I saw him cry harder and longer after falling off the ottoman on to the carpeted floor. Go figure.

I love BLUEBERRIES!

Definitely Mack's food of choice, FROZEN blueberries. Can't get enough of em. Mom, however, does not like the stained fingernails that make him look like he's been working on an engine all his life. This past weekend, we went to a u-pick-em blueberry farm. He wasn't as impressed with them straight off the tree, seems to like them frozen hard. Although he was attempting to pick his own from the stroller.

Brad's BBQ Future....

Brad was the talk of the neighborhood a few weekends ago when he parked his new BBQ trailer out front for the weekend. Many inquiries as to what tailgating machine that was. He was able to design this himself (for Graybar functions) as he has been designated the grill master. He hauled this to Gulfport, MS for the grand opening of a new Graybar branch. Was complemented in the fact that no one knew this was his first time not only with this equipment, but cooking for a crowd. Was even given kudos from a veteran of one of the major bbq circuits in the country.

Family Comes To Visit !

We were most excited to pick up the grandparents and cousin Tilley to spend a few days with us. We didn't do anything exciting, but were just glad to have them here. The videos are a couple days after his birthday, still crawling with the walking and stillll a little off balance. But now a month later he rarely crawls!
